OUR PARTNERS

ECHO supports local projects that offer opportunities to children, their parents and their communities that will create a better future. Our focus is on projects providing education, child protection and development programs. We will always take a holistic approach when considering projects. This means that education, or a specific aspect of their development strategy, aren’t the only subjects of interest. But also nutrition programs, physical and mental health care, securities, family support and programs that foster improved community life. Each of these aspects plays a role in achieving sustainable results. Our aim is to find, select, and support, projects that share our holistic perspective.

As ECHO grows we will select more projects that deserve our support, and yours.

DAMNOK TOEK

Damnok Toek has been serving the most marginalized and at-risk children and youth in Cambodia since 1997. In 2003, they opened a center designed for children and teenagers with physical and/or mental disability. In 2018, the center moves from Phnom Penh to Neak Loeung, in Prey Veng.

The children at the center receive residential and assisted-living care and get access to education and leisure activities, all according to their individual needs. The children are also being prepared for family reintegration where possible.

In 2016, Damnok Toek also started a social farm business for young adults with mental disability.

CHILDREN’S ACTION FOR DEVELOPMENT

Children’s Action for Development (CAD) has been supporting children from underprivileged families in Battambang, Cambodia, for over 12 years. CAD programs focus on improving the education system in Cambodia and every child’s access to it.

Today, CAD provides supplementary education and social work services to over 360 children (and their families), who are behind in primary school and risk dropping out at an early age. CAD is strongly involved with government initiatives, assisting Cambodian public schools in their transition to become high quality, well-run and safe learning environments. In addition, CAD builds new public schools and organizes classes on sensitive yet important subjects.
